Vision Insurance: A Wellness Benefit

The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eye wear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases vision insurance can lower annual expenses.

A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to eye injuries or disease. Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eye wear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.

Alamitos Eye Care accepts a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your individual needs. Make the most of your vision insurance plan by understanding your particular vision coverage.

And even if you don’t have vision insurance our staff will help you understand the choices you can make to maximize your vision needs at the best possible cost.

Education and Compliance: We provide patient-specific instruction sheets, detailing how to best wear your glasses and contacts. Your vision is a result of how well you follow the instructions.

Warranty and Re-dos:

• Request for changes to a prescription for glasses must be received within 60 days after you pick up your glasses and within 30 days for contact lenses.

• Manufacturer defects of eyeglass frames: different brand have different warranty periods

ranging from 3 months to 1 year.

Patient Privacy: In accordance with HIPPA privacy legislation, your personal information is not available on any shared data base and is secure within the office.

Deposits: We require a 50% deposit for all orders, and the balance due upon completion.

Payment Options: We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover, cash and personal checks, at time of service.  Please note that we do not accept American Express.

Here are just some of the plans that we accept:

Office Hours:  Monday – Friday  9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Saturday  9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (closed the last Saturday of each month)

Appointments:  We schedule ample time for each patient and our goal is that we are on-time, all the time. Please arrive in sufficient time prior to your appointment to allow time for any paperwork that we may need from you.

Cancellations: Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you must cancel so that we may offer the time to other patients. Failure to give appropriate notice may result in a $25.00 fee.
